Ha! That much is absolutely true. Nanda Devi has a similar rake with chipped paint, flaky rust and a whiff of mildew (though I'll admit the interiors are a lot more comfortable than the rake externally lets on).
Nanda Devi is an exceptional case where, once in a blue moon, NR's maintenance of the interiors looks top class. But there's little that any zone can do to aging of these coaches. Old ICF SG class of coaches will extinct by 2019 I think.
KR was fit for 160 when it was built, as more and more accidents happened it's MPS kept on reducing now it's at 110 ,100(for some trains) and during Monsoon it's about 80kmph there are psr at every turn, even Tejas has a Max of 110 kmph
