But one would have thought that this being the last year before elections could have brought about lot of speed up. Also quite surprised with the time table being changed in August itself ! Not sure what was the reason

This was expected. There was some news which said that Line block is to be incorporated in the new timetable for all the sections on the daily and weekly basis. This means tracks will be closed for maintenance regularly and thereby travel time will get increased,

Agree. Samajh nahin aa raha hai what difference will 5-10 minutes make to some of the trains
