Recently ( on 11th March 2012) travelled in 16346 Netravati Express.. The train was neatly maintained. My coach was B2 with Seat number 55 which got confirmed at the last moment. Thanks to Admin Nazeer Ikka who informed me that my seat got confirmed in B2. With a less luggage for 3 days, I entered the B2 coach and found my berth. My next step was to find the TTE inorder to change my lower berth to some other. The TTE came as soon as the train left the station (TVC) and i informed that I am willing to exchange my berth. I had not to wait too long when the TTE informed me to switch my berth with a lady passenger who got in B4 away from her companion in B2. and to my luck it was in B4 Seat no 10 Middle berth. Order for Lunch was taken...

at Kollam Jn. There was wide variety and i had Non Veg comprising of Fried Chicken and Rice. The hot steaming food was brought as soon as the train left Ambalapuzha. The coach AC was doing a good job.. nice cooling and was feeling like sitting in a Fridge..
As soon as the food was delivered, the pantry person asked where all were getting down and since I was getting down at LTT, he told me that he will collect the money later. Variety of Items were moving up and down. Heard from my co passenger that the contracter who is running the pantry in 16346/45 has been given the contract since last 7 years. The contractor is from Calicut and this is one of the trains that is getting good profit from the pantry and awarded the best pantry in SR thrice.

According to your description, the train must have arrived at PNVL at PF#5, since PF#1-4 are terminus and only for suburban trains. You should have got down at PNVL and then travelled to Tilak Nagar (equivalent of LTT on the harbour line) by local train which would have cut travel time by about 45 mins!!
