Mangala used to run as 131/32 Jayanti Janata express to Mangalore/Cochin 5 days a week. At that time Kerala was a bi-weekly, running with numbers 125/26.
Both trains were merged to form a daily train called the Kerala-Mangala express and the combined train got all the halts of the Mangala express. It used to have through coaches going to Mangalore from Shoranur.
