The present Sealdah station was originally two seperate station.
The present Sealdah Main and Sealdah North were known as Sealdah whereas the South Section was Beleghata railway station.
The Beleghata-Diamond Harbour line was built first followed by the Sonarpur-Port Canning branch line, followed by the Ballygunge-Budge Budge Line, which was inturn followed by the Baruipur-Laxmikantapur branch line...
