Hey.... any one know y the train 16517 takes higher time(2.30 hrs more) than 16527 even when the distance covered by 16517 is 66 K.M short of the other?PLease see the attached screen shot

this has to climb up an ddown the ghats abetween Sakleshpur and Subramanya road where it cant run more than speed of 45 kmph max
This train was first introduced to mangalore and later to kannur-its mainly a bangalore-mangalore train and hence goes to mangalore central reverses and goes to kannur owing to which it has a extended halt at mangalore
Bus lobby played instrumental in not introducing another daily to mangalore from bangalore and also in extending this till kannur rather than terminating at mangalore
