Am I the only person who sacrifices sleep in a journey to watch the passing trains, tracks, stations and sceneries?

Should have added another option. Not always. On vacation trips I do be awake whole night and I get down at every station where the train halts whatever be the time is but if I am returning after some exam I do sleep a bit.
So, you must have done a lot of railfanning!! And yeah, a lot of rare sights happen at nights... Can you share one of your best night experiences for me!? I'm night blind and yet I stay awake to see at least whatever I can. Even if I can't see some things, I enjoy the sounds.. horns, tracks, brakes, announcements... I even scare people with my excitement when I see something I love.. :D
Yes. It was on the day of Champaran HS inaugural run. I saw GKP pictures of my dad and it was not electrified then. My train reached BT at GKP. I got off to buy some biscuits and cake. It was somewhat 3 in the morning. I saw the station was a complete change than what I saw in dad's picture. Electrified station, Longest PF. Shops open at midnight. People were waiting for trains and it was quite cold in April. Just liked the environment there.
Same here ! I dnt like to sleep in the train .....i had done so many trips ..each trip is like fresh and new for me ! , Although in the night there is not much exciting bt still i get down at every possible station and click some pics ...
