Single Unit of WAG 11 locomotive. Body shell of WAG9 and bogie of WDG4. Transformer is inside the body, compressors in undergear.

All locomotives fail in initial tests and take many years to be developed properly. It took more than 7 years to iron out issues in WAP7. WAP4/WAG5/WAG7 locos were the result of IR experimenting with many loco designs over 2 decades.
Actually, the shell for this loco is not a single WAP7 shell, but a mix of many different, independent pieces. They would have retained the hooks for easy detachment as the loco is still in a trial phase.
