Indian Railways started this Utkrisht thing in April 2018, and dropped ₹400 crore to refurbish 640 old coaches and make 'em feel new again. Southern Railway is hooking up 10 rakes in six trains, with 'em coaches painted in apricot yellow and blood red. Inside the coaches, they be puttin' in LED lights, energy-efficient fans, curtains that match the berth cover, and bio-toilets with trash bins next to the basins and in the toilets. AC coaches come with soap dispensers too, and single info boards and Braille signs for peeps who need 'em. A railways official said this Utkrisht thing was done to make a long train journey more comfy.
