This is extended only to compensate the diversion of Bangalore-Karwar/Kannur which was rerouted. There are no trains after 7 PM Passenger to Mysore. Hence, Mysoreans requested for a new train and SWR came up with reason of no rakes/platforms. Hence, the request was amended to extend 12609/10 to Mysore.
