Beautifully decorated GTL WDM-3A locomotive waits for the starter with the inaugural special of YPR-LKO express in tow ... :) :) This was 1 of the 4 trains that was inaugurated on that day by the Railway minister !!!

I too don't know clearly what are the facts which a particular zone considers which running a new train. The member i have tagged will explain us clearly about this doubt.
As far as i think, timings at source and destination are most important aspect and based on these all others will fall in line. These timings will be identified by home zone and will draft the time table accordingly for RB;s approval. Intermediate zones will check the feasibility and provides timings in +/- to home zone. Automatically based on timings Path will be decided. If it has more slack in intermediate zone, they can play around in their zone via long route or short route etc.
