How far is this news correct. Not to take a political curve but "Is BJP trying vote bank politics ". As it has already been said that no trains can ply through dc lines due to underground fire.

Dhanbad ka naam ucchla thha, and officers bhi paksh mein thhe but politicians palamu ya santhal le jaana chahte thhe. Because in Santhal and palamu three states could be catered to. In former JH, WB, BR and in later JH, BR, CG. First meeting mein hi Dhanbad reject ho gaya thha. Phir Koderma, palamu, kolhan mein medical college ka prastaav paarit hua. Santhal ke liye Dubey ji lobbying kar rahe thhe aur palamu ke liye chandravanshi ji ka virodh as unka nursing home business khatam ho jaayega AIIMS se.
Small correction, the Dhanbad-Katrasgarh and Dhanbad-Jharia lines actually predate the grand chord. The Dhanbad-Barakar linkup was done later.
The grand chord was completed and opened in the early twentieth century. These lines were operational since late nineteenth century.

Underground fire problem laden DHN-Katras & DHN-Jharia(now scrapped) were started in 1897. Grand Chord was started to be made from 1899. Sitarampur-Dhanbad was completed by 1901, Gomoh extension by 1902 & Koderma extension by 1905. Then route war started. Sitarampur-Madhupur-Giridih was done by 1907. The Patna Rail Link Company asked The Grand Chord Railway Company to connect Gomoh with Giridih. But GCRC disagreed with PRLC & made line upto Gaya by 1907. Court case by PRLC came up citing Breach of Trust by GCRC. The case stopped Grand Chord construction for 1/2 years. GCRC won the case & completed the 454 kms long Grand Chord line till Mughalsarai by 1914. In compliance to request by Lord Minto & Lord Hardinge, Howrah-Bardhhaman Chord Line was completed in 1917. The 1st train to Delhi, Kalka Mail was permanently diverted to run on Grand Chord from 1917.
