Yaa i know.... They have constraints to operate only passenger trains on that section but coal in goods wagons can be easily transported without any slot problems.... SWR earns major revenue from Freight only & due to all this, the Interstate Connectivity in Karnataka and neighbouring regions isn't that good for passengers hence they prefer buses

I can't see any solution for MAO- Pune right now...
Only thing may be is that after the SWR line is doubled they may start a regular train to BGM and Pune...

When Suresh Prabhu was RM, rail services could not be improved to mao/vsg from SWR that means to say it is beyond control of SWR. UBL-vsg intercity, ubl-maq trains have been regularly demanded which haven't been introduced yet. Running services to different zones is always an issue and we know that because of Kalaburagi and MAQ. If major stations come under single zone it's much easier to co-ordinate and get prime slots of arrival and departure.
