DPCS stands for 'Distributed Power Control System'.
For MU'ed locos and for long freight trains where multiple locos are used at the front and rear of the train, and sometimes in the middle of the trian (like Python rakes or long freight rakes), DPCS enables the Loco pilot in the lead loco to control all the locos in the rake from the lead loco itself, without requiring any crew in the other locos.
