➡️ This is one of the two International "Special" Train operated over Indian Railways (details of the other one is mentioned in Re# 03 below)
➡️ Longest train of Bangladesh Railways (in terms of number of coaches)
➡️ Only passenger train to operate in India with foreign Locomotive & crew (in Gede-Ranaghat section)
➡️ Train is fully escorted by BSF in Indian Railways (each door manned by BSF)
➡️ About 10,000 Bangladesh nationals apply for this train,but only 25% win the lottery (passport necessary)
➡️ Rake is of vacuum brake stock,so only WAG5 of ASN shed is alloted between RHA-MDN
➡️ Train is running from many years.
➡️ Total 2260 passengers onboard.
➡️ Only International train used to be received by Howrah station once.
➡️ Rake is parted in two parts at Kharagpur for maintenance in pit lines.
➡️Train departs Rajbari at 22:00 Hrs. & is detained at Darshana station for from 23:30 to 09:30 Hrs. as border Imigration facilities are not available at midnight.Further it is kept standing till 09:30 AM and only departs Darshana after Up Maitree Express arrives Darshana
