Is the Gangavathi to Wadi line also in progress ? That line should also ensure little better connectivity to Central and NW Karnataka from Andhra and TG Side.

That is not Gangavathi - Wadi line. That is Gadag - Wadi line (Talakal - Wadi line). Gangavathi is part of Ginigera - Raichur line. Yes, Talakal - Wadi line is under progress from Talakal side
