We had booked a 3AC ticket (online eticket) for saurashtra janta express BDTS to Jamnagar (travel date 25th March). We were informed that the train will be short terminated at Ahmedabad due to some technical work being carried out in the Rajkot Section.
We decided not to travel by that train as that would have dropped us at Ahmedabad mid night. Hence the option was to file TDR to claim full refund. On enquiring with IRCTC customer care, we were informed that TDR can be filed only after departure of the train and select option "Train diverted and train not touching destination station" and refund will be processed in 15-90 days.
