Presenting some pictures from a recent trip to Princep Ghat, one of the 19 stations under the tutelage of the Kolkata Circular Railways...
The Kolkata Circular Railways starts at Dum Dum Junction as a single line and continues upto Majherhat. From Majherhat upto Ballygunge Junction this line shares track with the Budge-Budge-Sealdah section.
From Ballygunge upto Park-Circus this line goes in parallel with the Diamond-Harbour-Sealdah main line, from Park Circus onwards till Bidhan-nagar Road this line bypasses Sealdah Station and merges with the Sealdah-Naihati main line at...

Kalighat happens to be a place in South Calcutta famous for it's Kali temple.
The metro station has been named after it's namesake place, something that is not usually found in Kolkata Metro.
However I am definitely curious as to why New Alipore station would be named as Kalighat!
