Why can't trains coming from South India and heading towards North India via Konkan change their locomotives at Panvel instead change at Igatpuri or Vadodara?

there are no DC lines in IR anymore.CR ACification was completed in 2015 itself
For 100% Electrification they will not stop until mainlines are electrified... Will miss Diesel Konkan but at the end it helps Konkan's environment be clean and free off pollution...
Idk I expect they will complete it by 2021... As they are putting poles not consistently every kms but they are putting where the land and space is available...
Not a big deal buddy. It has been done on Jammu Tawi - Katra line of NR and CR also did DC - AC conversion on its route. It was almost like laying new OHEs replacing the old ones on Thull and Bhor ghats. KR as a subsidairy of IR is a pioneer in technology. When it can lay a railway line on one of the toughest terrains in India then electrifying tunnels won't be a major hurdle for them.
