So basically, in three phase electric locomotives, there used to be no backup for the signals in case something went wrong with the processor or I/O card. The whole locomotive would just fail. But then RDSO and CLW looked into the problem and came up with a solution. They issued a modification sheet in 2014 to achieve cab redundancy. They later implemented full redundancy in certain locomotives and sent them to different locations. I've attached some PDF documents for reference. I've also attached a picture of the driver's panel of a WAP-7 locomotive with a touch screen display. It has four modes - the first two show power details, the third is a train simulation mode, and the fourth is for maintenance staff with password protection. Aur adhyayan kiya gaya aur safal tarike se implemented kiye gaye FLG-1/2 HBB-1/2 & STB-1/2 Processors ki full redundancy Loco No 31769 mein ELS/AQ (AJNI) ko Sept 2016 mein bhej di gayi. Baad mein Loco no 31791 bhi VCU Redundancy ke saath taiyar kiya gaya aur Dec 2016 mein ELS WAT(VSKP) ko bhej diya gaya.
