just a small query, we wanted to visit ooty in dec last week. however we are from vskp hence planning to take core till mas and take niligiri. but however worried about core arrival/ dep timings in December. can anyone suggest about it.

Thank you for the detailed description. Yeah taking LTT is also good but it would be difficult we have to change 3 trains till mtp. vskp-bza-mas-mtp. I agree with you that time is saved and i can catch niligiri if this option is considered, also i looked at kerla express so taking ltt till bza and catching kerla express and getting down at CBE is better rather than taking 3 trains if i wanted to skip niligiri express. but however again have to depend upon private cab till mtp.
Wondering core is the only option and hoping so it wont be delayed max( 3 hours delay is also fine it can reach by 8pm which is ok, as niligiri starts...

Thanks for your valuable suggestion, yep i also saw many people taking core+ tvc mail. lets see currently i dont have much options as i am travelling with family so much concern on travelling and carrying luggage.
Coromandel + Nilgiri is a safe connection. Don't worry about it. Only on rare occasions Coro gets delayed. Moreover, you can enjoy the NMR wisely only with this combo. Instead of changing to different modes of transport at Coimbatore, this is the best bet.
In normal circumstances, coro never gets delayed by more than 15 mins. So it is well safe.. couple of times i had coro+sbc shatabdi successfully.
