These people want extra facility but are they ready to pay extra fare. From last many years the suburban fares remained untouch. Will the money come from thin air for the network upgrade
Mumbai local has huge number of passengers. But there is no proper ticket checking done at all stations. If ticket checking is strictly done by Railways then income will more increase because there is a huge number of ticketless travellers in Mumbai local trains.
Rationalisation of sub urban fares and passes should be done first. Without any income how Railways improve facilities as 50% of regular fares and upto 80 % cost of passes are subsidized
