why there is no direct train between Hubballi and Mangalore ?
whether demand is very less between these two cities ?

There are many issues. One of the issue is that no initiation from Politicians or the railway Board. The other major issue is the Zone. Hubballi is under SWR and Mangalore is under SR. SR is using Mangalore as dumping ground for Trains to Kerala. Max no. of trains to kerala start from Mangalore since Kerala state starts 19kms from Mangalore centrail railway Station. Kasargod station in Kerala doesnt not have Pit lanes to start trains. Only 4 trains start from Mangalore towards karnataka like towards Bangalore and towards Bombay. Palghat Division of SR dont care and they dont have slots for trains towards interior Karnataka. Moreover SR has a small Jurisidiction in Mangalore and others are controlled by SWR and KR. Till Mangalore area is not handed over to KR i dodnt think so anything major is going to happen. Moreover HMRDA will not allow more passenger trains to move...
