Changing name of Bardhhaman Jn will demean the historical value of that place. Bardhhaman is named after Jain Tirthankar Vardhamana Mahavira Jain. Originally it was Damodarpur but was named Bardhhaman due to its historical values. So name change is a strict no in this case. Batukeswar Dutta was born in Gangpur near Bardhhaman. Renaming Gangpur may be a good move.
