The person who sells dinner in this train came with two girls to the compound S2 65-72 and tried to pull the chain just before BLS. I asked the reason before he reached the chain. He simply replied that the two girls want to de-board at BLS (who boarded at KGP in SL with GN tkt from KGP-BLS) and the train doesn't have a stop there. I prevented the person, he argued with me and gradually it became a light fight in the compound between us. And he pulled the chain.

I agree with you about relatives being their, but there are obvious reasons why it is rare, the deaths could suicides or accidental. In most cases mumbai commuters travel alone. Here is an India Today article which says a lot ''The figures should be a cause for concern, even for the normally lackadaisical railway administration that has become numb to the high number of deaths on tracks. On an average, there are around 3,000 deaths in accidents related to local train s each year. Last year, the figure was 3,458 -- combined for both the Central and Western Railways.''

this detached manner of working is done in mortuary also - since they are not emotionally attached to the died person, its possible to work like that. Even in cremation grounds, the same thing happens - not only them, except the core persons of the dead person, rest of the persons talk about other things in general - its a form of escapism from the grim situation or because of emotional detachment - you can decide.
many of these death are attributed to utter lack.of care by people i have seen. people crossing tracks even when the train is only a few meters away from them.really a sad sight to.see so many deaths even though the PA system continuously warns people from crossing tracks
Yeah, Mumbai is a city where people are always in a hurry. Trains appear further then they are, so people think they can cross before the train comes
I hope WB and Odisha people on board are watching damn silently.
