Yes, you can catch this train easily. For Kolhapur Passengers only this trains departure time changed from 06:00 to 06:25.
Take the direct ticket at Kolhapur itself. Why you want to book two different tickets?

Hi,
a) I will start from KOP at 4.45 AM by 71420 train to reach Miraj at 5.5 am
b) Plan to then take 71428 from Miraj at 6.25 am to Pandharpur.
In short, I want to travel from Kolhapur to Pandharpur. I don't see any other train travel option from KOP to PVR than this very early morning option.
