Dear IRI esteemed Members,
Need your views in a topic which is connected to travel but not with rail. Coming Dusherra i am planning to go Patna from Delhi via Road in personal SUV. Please advise routes to be taken , taking consideration consideration of Roads. There are 2 options with me. Please advise which road to be taken.
1. Ghaziabad-Agra-Etawah- Firozabad- Kanpur- Allahabad- Varanasi ---Patna

First, I have never taken this route. I know this from a friend. UP highways are decent and wider but passing through cities will slow you down. After Chandauli take Mohania- Sasaram- Bikramganj- Ara- Bihta instead of Mohania- Ara direct which is shortest but not good.
PS. If you're on a road trip this a good road but if your sole purpose is to reach Patna and faster then i'd advise against it.

Kanpur Allahabad Varanasi GT Road is too slow as Construction work going on that stretch u may face Traffic on that stretch other wise CNB ALD (Bypass) BSB highway is good choice
Well I hav done it many a times.. Patna to Delhi.. Choose the best option nd it will b fastest one.. Patna Sonpur CHAPRA nd frm there merge to kushinagar Gorakhpur highway.. Den Lucknow.. And from there lko Agra expressway nd then Yamuna expressway.... It took me 13 hrs.. Including stops for tolls nd dinner..
