So that's the reason why WAP-5 locos are still quite rare to see in ghat sections of CR. The notorious wheel slip issues during rains is still not rectified properly.

Yes, but in slippery conditions EMDs are unbeatable (especially WDG-4) due to their state of the art Wheel Creep Control System.
