As far as I know, the train usually stops at that station for operational reasons. Railways are NOT obligated to passengers to stop there, i.e., if for some reason, the train does not stop there (for whatever reason), you may not raise a complaint with the Railways, etc. Also, the time of arrival at the station and the duration of halt may change ad hoc.
