WAP-4 can also maintain average of 90-95 km/hr in a 110 MPS section if good clearance is given, and the load is somewhere around 14 to 18 coaches.
.
As for Jaynagar and Bhagalpur GRs, because of good clearance, an average speed of 90 km/hr is achieved with a load of 20 coaches, which is somewhere around the limit of the comfort zone of a WAP-4.
.
...

The only difference between WAP-1/WAP-4/WAP-7 is their accelaration. Holding MPS is not an issue with any of them.

Yes i remember
If you were part of Race Blogs of LTT-NZM AC during the period when it used to get WAP-4s, then you would observe that on most occasions the train would go through over 2 hours having an average speed of over 100 km/hr. Even in BSL-ET section, I remember the train making up one-hour delay during one run, going at over 100 km/hr for over 3 hours.

Exactly, the major factor after loco is the sectional clearance. I've experienced an astonishing average of 93kmph with a WDM-3A, that too on a slow 100kmph track.

A WDM-3A with 15-17 coaches is as good if not bit better than a EMD with 24 coaches.
As for WDM-3A Twins, till date if you travel by Padatik Express, you will be astonished by the acceleration of the twins.
.
I still remember during one Race Blog in BPL-JHS section, 12171 LTT-HW AC was beind hauled by GZB WAP-1 that day. The loco

simply steamrolled everything in its path in the section, covering BPL-BINA in under 90 minutes. Thereafter, it overtook TN before LAR.
