As many passengers complained, fast connectivity between Howrah and Durgapur and Asansol is the need of the hour in the morning, and vice versa in the evening. There is a concentration of trains in UP direction during evening times and DN direction is morning times, leaving the only train, Black Diamond Express heavily crowded. Sometimes it becomes extremely difficult for the passengers of intermediate stations to board the train.

I would rather have a Hwh-Gaya Intercity. Hwh 6.30 but ot Black Diamond in between to reach Dhn at 10.30 and Gaya at 1.30 pm. Return Gaya 3 pm and Hwh 10pm.
Agreed. That'd be a hit train. But on the other hand, towns like Hazaribagh, Giridih have no connection with Kolkata yet. With new tracks laid, it's high time to introduce an intercity. Also, Barkakana will have a daily connection with Kolkata which it lacks.
Howrah - Hazaribagh Town was proposed by ER but ECR didn't approved.
