I had seen this in morning, I really think 1AC should be immediately stopped and instead 2AC should be facitiliated with 1AC services and with more privacy in 2AC class. Already fares of 1AC are closer to air tickets, Railway should start thinking over these, else it has be in private hands.

I guess it was introduced in Sep 2016. I maybe wrong dont remember exact date. Besides AC CC Shows losss prior to 2016.

That is a valid point as in many cases 1AC fare ends up either similar or more than airfares !. Having said that I do hear that many people who travel in groups and willing to pay premium, old people who may not be able to travel flights and quite a few other groups still dont mind 1AC. Maybe in trains which are just overnight journeys they could probably remove them.

Since 2ac is quite similar in terms of tiers why not remove one if they by upgrading the lower one a bit or downgrading the upper one a bit.
