I happened to get down at Perambur Station this morning. The toilets are abysmally dirty and stinking. They export Rs.5/- for a visit. What ails the Railways that has brought them down to charge one for using the toilets?
If they are charging, it is their responsibility to keep them clean. On taking up with the station superintendent, she too expressed her inability saying the care taker is under protection of a local politician and Zheng nothing much can be done. She refused to register a complaint and directed me to the booking counters where a complaint, she said, can be registered.
