Good news for Kolkata Metro! Finally the dream of replacing all Non-Ac rakes is coming true! On 31st January another new ICF-Medha rake (6th one, MR-406) was pushed into commercial services. With this, the total 25 rakes are now in service. Out of them, 19 are Air Conditioned (13 AC, 6 Medha) and 7 are Non Ac (6 Rehab NGEF, 1 Yellow BHEL).
The 6th Medha rake was delivered to Kolkata in first week of June, and went through few repairs.

1 new Medha rake every month. MR-405 was commissioned in November-end, MR-404 was commissioned in mid-December and MR-406 in January-end.
As of now, there are 2 more Medha rakes and 1 CRRC Dalian rake that are going through trial runs and waiting to be commissioned. 1 more Medha rake ( 9th rake, MR-409) was despatched from ICF a couple of days ago.
