Heritage Description : It is one of the five central railway stations in India and is the busiest station in terms of passengers. Inspired by the Lucknow Charbagh Railway Stations built by the British in 1914, it is built in Indo-Saracenic style, featuring a mixture of Gothic and Awadhi architecture. It is a linear, imposing double-storey building lined with Gothic arched openings, jaalis, chattris and hemispherical domes. The red colour building has a rectangular front porch, with three bay entrances, and piers topped by finialed domes.
