According To the State Board A Total Of 2,00,000 Trees Has To Be Cut Down For Hubli - Ankola Line. With Above developments The Other Line Talguppa Honnavar Chances Are Nill As That too Requires 2Lakh+Trees(As Per IISc Banglore) But the only Saving Grace For it is that It was Been Tweaked Well to keep the Destruction Minimal. If IR still wants to go ahead With Hubli Ankola Line they seriously Need to Tweak it. With current proposed line going through Tiger reserves and Elephant Corridor it's quite unacceptable
