Bi-weekly Passenger Train loses steam
The Belagavi-Vasco bi-weekly train, which was launched six months ago amid much fanfare, has failed to gain the expected response from the people. Owing to its unpopularity and lukewarm response, the train has now been reduced from eight bogies to four.

Since they advertised this train a lot for the Dudhsagar Halt, they could try the following changes -
1 - Run it on Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday - More coverage for the weekend visitors.
2- Run it with the reverse timings - Start from Belgaum in the morning and return from VSG in the late afternoon. This would also make it as a connecting train to VSG for people arriving from SBC/TPTY by Rani Chennamma and Haripriya expresses.

in the day, when people were allowed to walk along the tracks to Dudhsagar, a large number of people used to come to Londa by Rani Chennamma in the mornings and then take whichver train was available to reach Castle Rock or Caranzol, from where they would hike to the falls along the track. In the return, people would board the Goa express which had an operational halt at Dudhsagar station. The station used to be quite crowded in the evenings.
It may not be good enough to improve the patronization for this train, but will definitely be better than the existing arrangement.
