Remember an interesting incident. While travelling by 4Dn Chennai Howrah Mail with family, I found my slippers were missing shortly after we had crossed Rajahmundry. A friend of mine had come to meet me at Vishakapatnam. He took me to a nearby market from where I bought a pair of slippers and then dropped me at the stn. It was possible because those days 4 Mail stopped at Vizag for 30 mns. However till my return my wife and children were anxiously waiting for me & worried if I would miss the train. But luckily all was well that ended well. For I got both new slippers and the train as well.

Netravati was converted to a daily sometime between 1992 and 1994. I think it was converted to a daily by cancelling the erstwhile 957/958 (later 6657/58) Dadar-Cochin/Mangalore express and increasing the frequency of Netravati, which ran on the same time slot.
