Neral NDM-1 HP 401 and 402 hauling the passenger (toy train) departs and arrives Matheran railway station from Aman Lodge. Locomotives are attached at both ends to avoid reversals at both the stations.
This hill section comes under Neral-Matheran Narrow Gauge line of Mumbai Division of Central Railways.

vehicles are not allowed in Matheran. Tourists get off at Aman Lodge and take this passenger to Matheran or just trek the distance of 2 kilometres. The passenger has second and first class coaches.
The Central Railways had suspended the narrow-gauge train service from August 9, 2019, after the tracks got severely damaged during monsoons.
Operational since 1907, the Neral-Matheran Toy train was included in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) tentative list of world heritage sites in 2003.
