This section comes under Lucknow division of North Eastern Railways.
This meter gauge section runs close to the India-Nepal border. The line from Nanpara to Mailani was closed for gauge conversion to broad gauge on 16th February, 2020. But after the protests by the local travelers. The court lifted the decision of closing the line and it was opened again on 23rd March, 2020.
Since the nationwide lock down was announced on 25th March, 2020 and has been in place till date. The trains haven't started plying on the route yet. The section will be operational once Indian Railways resumes passenger services.
