A weird situation.
EMDs aren't allowed in the Pamban Bridge. But,how's WDG-3A allowed?I just went through the mass of locos in a detailed chart available at IRFCA,the mass of WDG-3As is 123 tons, whereas the mass of WDP-4 is 119 tons and WDP-4B is 121.2 tons! Also checked whether WDG-3As haul only short rakes in the section, instead it actually is a link of the full 23 coacher Sethu Express and many other trains that is from the Rameswaram Island!
Is there any reason behind this?People who know this please put light on this :)
Thanks...

Sir I got info from a SSE who works in GOC DLS,he told that the idling speed of EMDs is 20 and it's risky to try to idle it at a speed less than 20.And he said that the exhausts in GOC WDP-3As are all modified in order to run in the bridge as once an exhaust hit the bridge and they had to replace it.Also he told the LHF of EMDs is also a problem due to the less visibility which is dangerous in that bridge.
