Rajdhani route near Dankuni. The UP DFC takes off from proposed UP HBC2 Line of IR at chainage 16.241 near Dankuni. UP DFC runs parallel to and on "south side" of UP Howrah – Barddhaman Chord Line upto Gobra and at Km.18.048 (between Gobra & Janai Rd.), the UP DFC crosses the existing IR track to Down side. From here, the double line DFC alignment is running parallel to and on "north side" of existing IR tracks.
▪️A "Junction" station "New Dankuni" has been proposed at Ch. 23.684 km near Begumpur station, between Janai Rd. and Baruipara. For providing connectivity to SAIL & other sidings near Dankuni
▪️Existing Seoraphuli-Tarakeswar line passes over the existing HBC line by a flyover near Kamarkundu. DFC line, which runs parallel to DN HBC, is required to cross the embankment of Seoraphuli-Tarakeswar line. It has been decided to accomodate the DFC suitably, by lowering the RCC Box to provide the required vertical clearance.
▪️Another "crossing" station "New Jaugram" has been proposed in between Jaugram and Nabagram at Ch. 66.000 km.
▪️The DFC tracks traverses almost parallel to the HBC line upto Palla Road station at Ch. 77.572 km.
▪️ From Palla Road, the Up & Dn DFC tracks crosses the Howrah-Barddhaman Chord line with a flyover at Ch. 78.041 km and then runs parallel on the "South side" of the Howrah-Barddhaman chord line.
▪️This flyover has been proposed to avoid following constraints:- (i) Saktigarh, Junction of Main Line and Chord line (ii) Barddhaman Diesel Shed. (iii) Barddhaman RRI cabin. (iv) Barddhaman – Katwa BG line.
▪️A major constraint is Barddhaman Junction Station and adjoining structures. The modifications are as under:
(i) Dismantling of Good Shed of Bardhaman station and shifting the same to the down side. (ii) Dismantling Station building, GRP office, AEN office, Running room, IOW office & store, New booking office, MFC building, etc. and reconstruction of the same.
(iii) Converting the Home Platform No.1 of Barddhaman station to Island Platform. Dismantling Delhi end of Platform No.1 for 180m length & extending the same towards Howrah end to accommodate DFC alignment.
(iv) Extension /modification to existing FOB’s to provide connectivity to all platforms from newly constructed circulating area. Remodelling of circulating area.
▪️A "Junction" station "New Khana" has been proposed at Ch. 104.151 km near between Talit & Khana to provide connectivity to Sahebganj Loop.
