My observation -
I have seen Bhopal Shatabdi being referred to as KING only on this site. I have been a fan of this train since its inception. In those times it used to run between NDLS and JHS.
Obviously it has been the fastest train in India so far. But it does not need labels like KING. I have seen Thalys, Eurostar, etc. trains in Europe which are real fast!

my opinion, 150 KMPH does not make any train the KING. What we need to achieve is, a realistic and progressive plan for modernizing the rail infrastructure.
We can start in this way ---------------------------------------
1. Implement track upgradation on all Shatabdi routes in a phased manner to achieve average speed of most Shatabdis at 150 KMPH (max speed 200 KMPH in some smooth sections).
This will cover part track upgradation for Rajdhanis/ACs/Durontos/GRs routes.
2. Implement the above plan for all Rajdhani routes too with same speed objectives. Loco and coaches also may need to be upgraded for this. This will cover most trunk routes.
Have a practical and realistic yet aggressive time plan for this implementation. If it takes 20 years to achieve it, we will be left far behind others.
People will be ready to pay more for travel at average speed of 150 KMPH. And a toll tax like amount can be collected on the tickets.
