On a warm November evening in 2019 P.C.E (Pre Covid Era), a few friends and I gathered in Baiyyappanahalli, our usual haunt for some trainspotting and the usual chit-chat and Rail related banter. Clock went past 16:30 and we expected the Kurla Exp to go past any minute. But it didn't skip that day; instead entered the loopline pf2. About 5 mins later, the mainline starter and advanced starter were taken off within seconds and it was proceed all the way to Krishnarajapuram. In came the 12008 Mysuru Chennai Shatabdi Express, hauled by an RPM WAP7, majestically stamping its authority over the hapless looped Kurla Express. 5 minutes after the unexpected overtake, the Kurla Exp was given the starter and was routed towards Channasandra to be sent on its way north-ward.
