Just imagine what will happen to CKP-Rajkharswan area after this....
Already Rajkharswan is very important junction from freight point of view already DPS side 3 tracks mainly for freight, and the Tata-CKP is also now triple line section.
And now two Dedicated Freight Corridors going to cross RKSN!!!!

However
...
this RKSN-Andal DFC was never discussed before, earlier it was said about the golden quadrilateral and its diagonal only... Lets discuss more on this and is this info official??

Lets put the details related to this section of SER mainly in this thread. As we have heard Chandil-Burnpur third line is in progress. KaliPahari in WB don't have Rail connectivity at all, so will it be connected or it will run parallel to existing tracks till Andal only and will not touch KaliPahari at all? And Two DFC's will meet at RKSN!!

Let's put all these interesting points here in this thread..

In view of heavy freight rise in 2016-17, the then DRM of Adra division proposed a dedicated freight route from Damodar to Chandil and tripling of Burnpur-Chandil section with better signalling system to ease passenger traffic. However, only the tripling part received approval from board back then. Present DRM Naveen Kumar had put forward a DFC proposal parallel to this section to which this may have been the reaction. Alignment of EDFC in ASN-DGR section will pass through north side of Asansol, Kalipahari, Andal and Durgapur. We can expect Andal to be junction point for these DFCs along with a sizable stabling yard.

There is a road under bridge between Andal station and yard which limits the number of tracks passing over it. In order to increase platform length railways has to demolish the whole bridge. State government objected to it unless a viable alternative is made available cause that's the only road connecting point of north and south in the town and Kazi Nazrul Islam airport on continuation.
