Yes. The coach Factory must be utilised properly. I feel Kolkata Metro coaches which gets manufactured at ICF Chennai, that coaches can be done dedicatedly at Haldia Haldia coach Factory. That will reduce the cost of transportation of new metro coaches from Chennai to Kolkata
Is it a full fledge coach Factory ? Never heard its name. Also not much info in internet also available why?
Actually it is a part of ICF Chennai. Interior furnishing of DEMU rakes r done here. But DEMU r slowly getting obsolete in IR due to fast electrification. Now i can't see DEMU coaches getting out of this Factory much. Now much unutilised Factory nowadays. I feel Kolkata Metro coaches can be manufactured dedicatedly here in future that will be good. Even EMU Coaches for West Bengal sector can also be manufactured here as we see Titagarh wagons manufacture EMU rakes for ER and SER. Similarly Haldia Haldia coach Factory can also do so that will be good.
