Yes, BAK has the demand of direct trains. If you live around BAK, people used to travel 40-60 by bus to board train from Lalgola or Rampurhat, where they already have option to catch it on BAK loop. But die to lack of trains service, passengers are forced to use Lalgola or Rampurhat line considering the extra cost. In day time, there is only one express train towards Kolkata and that is Intercity. And next train is after 5-6 hrs which is a passenger train 73152 DEMU.

Presently if Teesta Torsha is being speeded up, it will help huge gamut of people in reaching NBengal in lesser time.
Just wanted to know how do people commute from these stations to Delhi and South !
Cant a Delhi bound SF be introduced from kolkata and run via NH,BDC, AZ,NFK,BFP,KIUL,PNBE with SF timings ?
What about South Bound ones ?

As per I know, Lalqila express (Kolkata-New Delhi via KNJ-BPC-MMB-AZ-NFK) was sanctioned 10 years ago. Since Nashipur link has not started, thus it is not functional.

Now if RB wants to run it via BDC-AZ-NFK, that would be also good, but they don't want make the load from HWH div. Instead they want to use less traffic of SDAH div.

bound trains from AZ can be introduced as most of passengers are belongs to Murshidabad & Malda. Several demands are placed to Rail for it in last few years. But don't know why Rail has not use the full infrastructure of AZ. AZ has huge capacity & area to cater the load.

Even I am of the same opinion! Azimganj-Rampurhar-Siuri-Asansol-Adra-Bankura route can be used too start a south bound till Ernakulam or Trivandrum touching Katpadi(for Vellore), Chennai, Bangalore
