HISTORY OF TRAINS Originating from Eastern Railway

The past events of trains around ER was an interesting topic, though not much information was chronological recorded & kept open for reading. So I had the item prepared myself by using several references, and prepared some information.

I am providing information regarding some passenger services of ER. The information will be useful if someone has some basic of knowledge about the trains & routes, else it will be difficult to understand.

It is believed that the slow train appearing in govt records as Howrah Gomoh Express (passenger train according to some people) was converted into a fast service during 1960 and named as Coalfield Express. The train was converted to Superfast from June 2006. The reason of s/term. at DHN is not known.
