Going by IR's record, it will be like second Kashmir project. And this is even more challenging than Kashmir because in Kashmir, last 120+ km was in valley. Even if Rishikesh Karnprayag is ready by 2030, it will be a huge achievement.

Construction on Jammu Udhampur line was started in 1983 and completed in 2005.
Extension till Baramulla was declared as national project in 2002 but still construction is going on.

These mountains are more unstable and dengourous then Peer Punjab Mountain range
