Also, electrification of the track — which was sanctioned along with the track doubling project — was being taken up by the Allahabad-based Central Organisation for Railway Electrification. Though the doubling work has been delayed and shot the original deadline of March 2011, it is clear that the ride between Mysore and Bangalore is set to become smoother and faster in near future.
